Perak Family Health Association (PFHA)
Perak Family Health Association (formerly known as Perak Family Planning Association) is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) established in 1956. The Association is a member of the Federation of Family Planning Associations, Malaysia (FFPAM), which is in turn a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). PFHA is the leading NGO in the field of family planning and reproductive health in the State of Perak. |

PFHA is committed to promotion the health and social well-being of all individuals via the implementation of the following programmes/activities:

1. |
A family planning
programme rendering contraceptive advice and
services to all individuals and couples through a
network of clinical outlets in Perak. |

2. |
A sexual and
reproductive health programme offering preventive
reproductive health care services at the clinical
outlets. |
|
3. |
An information,
education and communication (IEC) programme
concerning family planning and reproductive health
including Human Immunodeficiency Virus
(HIV)/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS),
which is conducted in health centres, factories and
at the community level. |

4. |
A family life
education (FLE) programme advocating sexuality and
HIV prevention education to young people through
outreach programmes in schools and the Intelligent
Youth (InteYo) Club of PFHA based in the PFHA Family
Centre at Taman Cempaka, Ipoh. |
Guided by the philosophy of excellence in sexual health
care, PFHA believes that all people have a right to the
highest possible level of sexual and reproductive health and
well-being. It is, therefore, PFHA’s aspiration to tranform
rights into realities for men and women, young and old,
currently denied the sexual and reproductive health and
rights that are basic human rights and fundamental to
sustainable development.
